Carter and the Lightners

Carter loved hanging out with his Aunt Ashley and especially his Uncle Russ and Trixie.

Texas Trip

We had such a great time with Ashley and Russ. On Friday night we went to the Town Center, and they had a Art Fair going on. They also had some bounce houses for little kids to play in. Carter loves these types of things.

6th Grader for the Day....

We went to TX this past week to see Chris's sister Ashley and her husband Russ. It was so good to see them and be able to hang out for a while. On Thursday Ashley had a baby shower at school so we went up there to attend the shower. We got there just in time to sit in on her 8th hour class. Carter loved it, and did so good while she was teaching. As you can see, he is a natural teacher and student.

Partner in Crime

So, I knew Carter was not the only one that liked to pull stuff out of the cabinets...I had both kids this morning while Alecia worked a little. They had such a good time playing together, especially when it came to the cabinets.

Yesterday we went to the park in The Marlars subdivision. The kids had such a great time, but as you can see Carter did not want to wait his turn on the slide. His facial expression is hilarious, like he knows he is doing something wrong.

Memphis Zoo

Chris has a presentation that he is doing at a company in Memphis today, so Carter and I decided that we would tag along so that we could come see our friends The Marlars. We got in late Wednesday night, and are staying until Saturday sometime. Yesterday was such a great day that we decided to go to the zoo. Carter and Avery loved it, and they got to see a lot of animals upclose and personal. I tell you late afternoon during the week is the best time to go to the zoo. It was like we had the zoo to ourselves. Here are a few pics, I know some of you might not like to see some of the animals, but we had some great views.

This is one of the new animals since Chris and I went when we lived here, it was so amazing to see the polar bear
We were so close to the giraffes, they are truly amazing animals.

Naturals Game

Northwest Arkansas got a minor league baseball team (affiliate of the KC Royals) in Springdale. So, last Saturaday night our Sunday School class went to the game as our monthly social. We had a lot of fun, even though it was cooler for an April night. Chris and I were so excited to get our picture taken with the Naturals mascot...Strike the Yetti (I know, can you believe that is the actual mascot). As you can see, I am sure Carter would be very scared of him.

Trying to be like dad...

Since we are a little more settled in our house now, we have decided that we want to add some built in shelves in our living room on both sides of our fireplace. Chris had the tape measure out on Sunday trying to determine L x W x H, etc, and once Chris was done, Carter thought he needed to find out the measurements so that he could be of some help with the building. I guess now we need to get him his own tool belt so that he can be an even bigger help to dad.

Here a few pictures where Carter is really trying to be like Dad. It was so nice the other night that we were outside pretty much all evening. During this time outside, while I was inside cleaning up dinner, Chris decided it was good to hit some golf balls. So, of course Carter was following him around the backyard. Chris finally let him hold the club and hit the ball. Carter thought it was hilarious.

Carter's New Table

We decided that it was time for Carter to have his own table. So, we finally bought him one, and he loves it. The first day that we had it put together, he spent all day playing at it. He would play with his puzzles, draw, etc. It is so funny to see him sit like such a big boy at the table. He also thinks that everyone else should sit at the table with him. He says really loud...SIT, as he points to the seat that he wants you to sit at. It is so funny. I think this is one of the best purchases that we have made so far for him. He absolutely loves it.

Painting at the Addingtons

Paige is moving into a new room with the arrival of her brother quickly approaching. So, we had a painting party at the Addingtons last weekend. We were in charge of containing the kids while the boys painted. As you can see Nana pulled them around the house in the wagon, then we went outside for a while, but the kids really wanted to just hang out in front of the gate, hoping that their dads would let them come in and get into some paint.

Carter thought he was helping...

Of course he wanted Paige's car instead of his own...

Can we please come in...
This is great

Dad taught him everything he knows...

I guess this is how Carter sees Chris sit on his tractor, I wonder how he ever gets the yard mowed...

Grandparents night!

Last night, Chris and I accompanied Dane and Amber to the Arkansas Baseball game (we lost). So, my parents were able to come up and watch Carter while we were gone. Carter has such a good time with them when they are here, especially because they will read to him the entire night if that is what he wants to do. I love to see him with my parents, and am glad that he can have this time with them. When we got home they were all crash, mom and dad on the couch and Carter in his room, I guess they had a hard night. They also got to experience him with not 1 but 2 dirty diapers while they were here. Better them than me....

Carter and his Bucket

Mr. Bucket Head...Carter still loves his Easter bucket that he got from one of the Easter egg hunts that he went to. This morning he would dump all of the plastic eggs out and put it on his head. He would wait for me to say where is Carter? and then he would take it off. It was so funny!

Again with the bucket, and this time with his drum. The other day, he drug both of these things around all morning, following me wherever I went. He would stop every once in a while and put items in each thing.

He actually took a break and looked at the camera to say cheese...
