Old Man Winter Visits AGAIN!!!!

Well again we were forecasted snow this week, although, I think they were a little off on the amount. We were only supposed to get 2-4" on some reports, and 25" later it was finally finished. Yep thats right, I said 25" it is so crazy...I have never seen this much snow, it is one of the prettiest I have ever seen. It just looks like a blanket (or down comforter) was laid down. I am definitely tired of the snow, and I think my kids are too. I am not one to get out and drive on it, so needless to say we have pretty much been at home for 2 weeks straight with a few days in between where we were out. Thought I would share some of the pics:

This was while it was still snowing, tried to get a good picture, but not really. This is how much was there when I woke up, and there was none on the ground when I went to bed at 11:30.

This is my way of trying to persuade my husband to work from home...little did I know...

I didn't really need to the monkey bread to make him stay...haha. This is his attempt at trying to clean off his truck while the blizzard was still occuring. I think he stared at it for about 20 mins. It looks like he is looking at someone else or something to help, nope just staring in amazement.

The tracks that Chris made with his truck...crazy, at least I had a way to walk out and take pictures.

Yep, we are those people...with all the snow and tax season well on its way, my husband has not had a chance to take down the Christmas lights. Maybe this weekend after some melting occurs, keep your fingers crossed.

Tribute to Morris Family

I experienced something today that you would not wish on your worst enemy. If this happened to me, I'm not really sure how I would handle it, but I am pretty sure I would be very mad/hurt, etc. This past week, our friends Rich and Renee Morris lost their little boy, and little Sallie (2 yrs) lost her little brother. One day she was 34 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy (Richie), and the next she is saying goodbye to her sweet baby boy. I can't even begin to understand why God does the things he does, especially to such great people, but he knows why and wants us to understand there is a reason. I have known Renee for probably 11 or 12 years, we met in college and because of cheerleading became lifelong friends. From the first time I met her, she has been a loving/caring person, always making sure you are happy, etc. She is by far one of the best people I know. And then you add Rich, and you get another great individual. We have become even closer as we have gotten older and had children. So, this past weekend was especially hard.

Today we said goodbye and celebrated the life of Richie. Seeing the tiny coffin carried in made you really think about what we take for granted everyday. It just goes to show that God is completely in control of everything in our lives, and knows what is best. This is exactly the kind of attitude that Rich and Renee have at this point. I am not saying they are not going to have angry/mad/sad/happy days but at this point they are a true example of keeping your faith no matter what. I will never forget hearing Renee tell me at the hospital that God just wanted her to carry this sweet boy for as long as she did just so he could take him home. AMAZING LADY!!!

I am writing this tribute to the Morris' so you all can just take a little bit and say a quick prayer for them as you think of it. You may not know them, but if you have ever had this experience yourself, or know someone that has, you know they will need LOTS of prayers. It is going to be a long road, but we know that God will lead them through. This is the 2nd set of our friends that have lost their child in the past few months. Whether they are 34 wks old or 18 mths to us they are TOO young to be taken. It just goes to show that we need to love our children even more, and make sure we show them often how much we care. Please pray when you can and remember that God is in CONTROL of everything.

Blizzard...Ice...Snowman

Mother nature decided to drop some major snow and ice on us this week. Luckily the ice was not as bad as it was supposed to be at least in our area so that was nice. It was however freezing...the wind was blowing so hard (35 mph) that it was considered blizzard like conditions. I tried to get a picture of how fast it was coming down, but it really didn't work. Chris and Carter were able to go out and play yesterday for a little bit, although, it was still freezing. They made some snowmen and went sledding down our hill. They lasted much logner then I thought they would. Carter kept saying he wanted to make a snow angel, however, he probably would have gotten lost in the snow. We probably had somewhere around 5-7 inches, and that is not including much more in the drifts.

4 months and Candy

Well, Molly is now 4 1/2 mths old, time sure has flown by this last month. We went to her 4 mth checkup last week, and here are her stats...15lbs 11.9ozs and 26" (95% in both). The doctor said she looked great and is growing really well.

We also got a special treat last week, when we were able to meet up with Aunt Candy. Kyle was in town interviewing for a job to hopefully get them closer to us!!! We are praying daily that they get the right opportunity, that is right for their family, but we are also secretly praying that it will bring them closer to us!!!! It was great to see her, and for her to see the kids. Hope we get to meet up more often for playdates in months to come. :)
