A day in the life of Carter

Carter has a very "rough" life if you ask me. From mowing to changing diapers to eating ice cream, he seems to be a very busy little boy.

He got this tractor last yr for his birthday, and this year he has become a pro at driving it. He puts it in 2nd gear and off he goes. He follows Chris around as he mows as you can see, which is so funny. I looked out there the other day, and there were my boys mowing our yard. It is so funny and special for me to see.

Paige and Carter taking a break from playing to have some ice cream sandwiches at Nana's house.

So, I came home last week from choir to find the girls glo-worms in diapers. Apparently while I was gone, Carter decided that the glo-worms were dirty, so he needed to change them. It was so funny to see him change them, he actually did everything exactly how right. I guess he watches me change a lot of diapers throughout the day, so he is a professional as well. I am so proud..now only if he could do the girls diapers.

4 mth Checkup!

I know I can't believe it either, they are 4 months old now. It is crazy how fast time is going, and how quickly they are growing. They had their 4 mth checkup on Friday, and got a great report from Dr. Foster. He was very pleased with them, even though Kennedy peed on him. He has not been peed on if forever, Chris kept saying it is just keeping him humble. Anyway, here are their stats:

Kennedy:
12lbs 6ozs
24 1/4"

Bailey:
14lbs 7ozs
25"

At their appt...they are really starting to really like looking at each other

This is how I found them after I had put them on the floor. The constantly turn around, and Kennedy is rolling over as soon as you lay her down on her back.

Naturals Game

Last night we took the family (or should I say circus) to the Naturals game. I got some free tickets, so off we went to the game. Well, if you know Carter very well, you know he does not sit still very long. He said all day he wanted to go to the baseball game, and I think deep down he really likes it he just can't stay seated the whole time. So, we watch a total of about 2 innings I think, and then went to play on the playground. Overall, it was a good family night, even though it was crazy.

The girls first sporting event...they did very well.

StoryTime

This is a typical night at our house, but now the girls are getting involved. Isn't it sweet to see Chris with all the kids. What a great dad!!!!

Rolling and Bumbos...

The girls will be 4 months tomorrow...man how time flies. They are getting so big, and starting to do so much. There personalities are starting to show as well. Kennedy (little Misty is what people say) is our social butterfly, and Bailey (little Chris and Carter) is more laid back and calm. As you can tell, not only do they look like each of us, but apparently they are showing signs of acting like us as well. Kennedy loves to talk/babble a ton, and Bailey on the other hand only babbles when she wants. Again just like their parents.

Kennedy rolled over this past weekend, and Bailey is so close. We literally can't put Kennedy down on the ground without her rolling over.

We got out the bumbos this past weekend, they loved them. And of course now it is another chair for Carter to sit in as well.

Father - Son Haircuts

Since tax season is over Chris decided to shave his hair off...not really sure why he waits until after tax season. Anyway, Carter needed a trim as well since Chris was getting his haircut. Now they look even more alike.

Easter morning

It is so hard to get everyone to look at the camera and smile all at the same time...maybe next time.

Rounds 2, 3, and 4

Saturday was such a beautiful day, and by looking at the weather we knew that we needed to get some Easter Egg Hunting on this day because of the rain chances on Sunday. We had such a great Easter, not only because we were celebrating our Saviors resurrection, but also because we got to spend time with our friends and family. One of the highlights for the weekend, was that my best friend, Candy, who lives in NC got to come in and visit and meet the girls for the first time (pictures to come from that visit later). Here is a recap of our Sat., and as you can see the girls even got in on the action...

We did an egg hunt at Aunt Lavons, at Nana Flynts, and then another one on Sunday (when we had a break from rain) at Aunt Lindas...so lots of egg hunting. I however, did not get any pictures from Aunt Lindas.

Bailey with Aunt Lavon hunting eggs

They needed a nap in between dyeing and hunting the eggs. Aunt Lavon loves to put kids to sleep. I walked into the living room, and this is how I found her. I guess they were just really comfortable with her.

Kennedy (with Aunt Lavon) and Bailey got to "practice" dyeing some eggs too

Carter patiently waiting for the eggs

Carter's favorite color is blue...can you tell? He kept putting all of his hand in the blue cup with his egg, thankfully they washed really well.

Paige (of course not looking) and Carter at Nana Flynts. It was so fun to see them excited and running to get the eggs.

Kennedy and Bailey Dedication

Yesterday we had baby dedication at our church, so of course we wanted to dedicate Kennedy and Bailey. We are very proud parents of all our kids.

This picture is not the best, but it will work. We tried several different times, and of course Carter was looking at Chris in the majority of them. The ones that he wasn't Chris' head was cut off. Anyways, it totally explains our Sunday mornings though...crazy. I guess this will have to do, especially since we are taking the picture ourselves. This is however, the first family picture we have since the hospital. I can't believe it has taken us that long. I am hoping to get pro family pics in June when we do the girls 6 month pictures.

Sunday School Easter Egg Hunt

Like I mentioned before, we had a Sunday School Easter Egg Hunt at our house this past Saturday. It was a nice warm day, but very windy. We had 43 people total at our house, and 20 of those were kids...and that it not even everyone from our class. It was crazy, but a really good time. We grilled hot dogs and hunted eggs, I think everyone had a good time.

Carter and Paige, they really do love each other (Can you see Amber and Chris doing this? I mean really they look just like them)

Carter loved his eggs, and still is obsessed with taking the plastic ones apart and putting them back together. This Sunday should be so much fun.

Easter Fun

Last week Carter got to help prepare for some Easter festivities that we had planned for the weekend. He got to dye eggs, make cookies, and stuff his plastic eggs with candy. It was so fun to do these things with him, and it is great that he is at the age where he wants to do it and enjoys it.

Saturday we had an Easter Egg Hunt with our Sunday School class at our house, so Carter and Chris dyed some eggs before they got here.

waiting patiently for the eggs to dye...

Carter helping me make cookies...the only drawback here is that he wanted to eat them all weekend. He sure did a good job, they were yummy

Carter stuffing his eggs with candy, he was so funny he wanted 3 pieces in each and all the same color.

3 Month Pictures

I got back the girls 3 month pictures yesterday, and they turned out so good. I was really concerned because all they wanted to do was sleep when Sarah was here. But as always she got some amazing pictures. Carter did really well, and then one of him holding their feet, he did that on his own Sarah did not ask him to do that. Hope you enjoy...
