Just a little OCD

Carter spends most of his days lining up his toys and arranging them in only a pattern that he knows. If you try to help he will say that you are doing it the wrong way. I have no idea where he gets this. :)

This is how I found him this morning...

So, the other day he started "taking" care of his puppy Patch. He normally sleeps with Patch, but took it to a whole new level this past week. He wanted to dress patch in his clothes, feed him, change his diaper, etc. It was so funny, because he was doing everything as I do with the girls. The not so funny part was when he would wake up in the middle of the night to feed patch. Yes, thats right, I said feed him. He would turn on the lights in the kitchen, get a spoon and bottle and feed him. Then he would proceed to change him (mind you with a clean diaper of the girls), and then I guess go back to bed. This is all going on as Chris and I are sleeping, I mean really how scary is that. I probably would not have known had I not found Bailey's empty bottle in the fridge the next morning, and the clean diaper in the trash. It was so funny.

Carter and Patch

Patch needed to take naps too...

This is what they all did last night while I was making dinner

We have little fish all around us

Last week we got to put the girls in the pool for the first time. It has been so HOT during the days, we have not gone out there until after dinner. They loved it, well at least we think they did. Kennedy would just kick her legs the whole time, and Bailey would try to drink the water. It was fun to see them in there, and to know that one day they will be little fish like their brother and cousin Paige.

Carter is doing so well swimming, and he loves to point out that he is doing it by himself.

Saturday night we had some friends over to Nana's house for some good food and fun in the pool. Look at all the little fish out there.

Another Birthday Boy

Saturday we went to Brady's 1st birthday party at his house. It was a lot of fun, we had some good food, fun outside, and and really good cake. Here are a couple of pics., as you can see Carter and Paige had a lot of fun helping Brady eat his cake. They were so funny!

He's probably thinking...get your finger out of my cake :)

6 mth Check-up

Last Friday, we took the girls in for their 6mth checkup. They got a great report from the doctor. Here are their stats:

Kennedy:
14lbs (25%)
25 3/4" (50%)

Bailey:
16lbs 14 ozs (75%)
26 1/2" (75%)

As you can see they are growing like crazy. Its amazing that they are so far apart in weight, I mean literally they eat the exact same everyday. Oh well, just goes to show that everyone is different.

This is what Bailey did to the paper while we were waiting on the nurse to come back in and give them their shots. She was trying to eat it, it was hilarious watching Chris try to get it away from her.

6 mths in Review

6 months already...can you believe it? The girls are getting so big, and doing more and more each day. They are so sweet to each other most of the time, but then you get times when they try to eat each others hands, heads, etc. But they truly do have an amazing bond already! They are:
*Eating Fruits and Veges
*Sleeping through the night (sometimes they have some rough nights, but never at same time :) )
*Rolling over...they get places so quick
*Grabbing whatever is is front of them
*Giggle and Laugh all the time
*Bailey is sitting up really well, she still is a little wobbly, but she is still sitting there for a while
*Kennedy gets on all fours and lunges forward, she is also going to a sitting position from all fours. Her sitting up is not as steady as Baileys, but she is trying.
*They are both such happy babies, and unless they are tired or hungry are perfectly content to just lay around or go wherever we need to go. We are truly blessed with such good babies, and a wonderful BIG brother

I know there are several more things they are doing, but I can't think of them right now. Also, they are in LOVE with their brother. No matter what he does to them or around then, they crack up laughing or just stare at him. Last night, Carter was playing his guitar for them while they ate their last bottle, and Bailey could not take her eyes off of him. I hope he always loves them like he does right now, and they love him just the same.

This is how I found them the other morning...Bailey loves her big sis

Racing fans...have to support our favorite Carl Edwards

This is how Kennedy is most of the time when she is on the floor

Bailey loves the walker, and of course throwing all the toys overboard as well. Look at that precious smile.

Bailey so happy she is sitting up...a totally different view from here
This is Kennedy's progression to sitting up...

Had to sit up so she could watch Mickey Mouse :)

Finally sitting up!

Birthday Boy

Last weekend Chris and Carter went down to Texas with Amber and her kids and Nana for Holt's 1st birthday party. I can't believe that he is already 1, man how time flies. Carter can no longer call him "Baby Holt." It was a great weekend for the boys, as they got to swim before and after the party...what a great life. Congrats "baby" Holt on your 1st Birthday!!

While Chris and Carter were in TX, me and the girls got a chance to hang out at home. It was a great girls weekend...hahaha. No really I got to watch scary movies with my dad (my favorite), do a bake sale with my cheer girls, eat dinner and watch a movie with a good friend, and just hang out with my girls. The girls loved their first scary movie, I'm teaching them early :). It was such a good weekend, but the girls did miss getting to see their daddy on Fathers Day! Oh well, he knows how much they love him.

What a sweet family...

Eating his breakfast...so funny

Love the face...

Kid Free Vacation...Destin, FL

Ok, so this is probably gonna be a long post, but last week we left AR with 5 other couples and headed to Destin, FL...with NO KIDS!!!! We had such a great time, and the weather was PERFECT the whole week (not even one shower). We almost forgot what we did before we had kids, and although we all missed our kids like crazy, it was great to get away and relax. We spent most of our days at the beach and sometimes the pool, but most importantly we did what we wanted, when we wanted to do it.

The beaches were amazing, the pier was very cool, and the food was pretty good as well. We got to see some dolphins, crabs, mussels, and big fish (thanks to our husbands). I am happy to report that we did not once get stung by a jellyfish, nor did any of us see them I don't think. The water was perfect...a little cold at times, but a lot of fun. No one got too terribly burnt (not even me...which is a first), so that made going to the beach and pool a lot more fun.

At night we would go to dinner, and then just hang out play games, shop or watch tv. One night we went to The Track after dinner to ride go-carts and of course the RipCord...I love that thing. Below are some pictures:

Amber and I got Ryan to go with us...poor Ryan, he had never done it before, but I don't think we screamed too much. We did however farkly (sp?) for who was going to pull the rip cord...I WON!!! This one was right when we finished swinging.

Before we went up...

Waiting patiently for our turn...

On Friday the boys got up really early (4:45 AM) to go on a fishing excursion for 6 hours. They had such a great time, and were well rewarded for their hardwork. We ended up cooking several of the fish for dinner that night (or the restaurant in front of the docks did). They were so good, and we got to bring the rest of it home. YUM...

Chris and Joe both caught 30-35 lb Cobias...I guess several people will rent these boats or go on these fishing trips just to catch Cobia and they got two. For those of you who know my dad...he was very jealous when I told him.

Chris pointing to his Cobia. These were all the fish the boys caught...Cobia, King Mackral (sp?), Grouper, and Red Snapper

The boys, their captain and first mate and of course their fish

Coming in on the boat...they were soaking wet.

The last night we went to the Baytowne Wharf and ate dinner with the Addingtons. It was such good food, and an amazing view.

Flynts and Addingtons

Us at dinner....notice the full bowl...that was our scraps. We had so much food, but it was one of my favorite meals on the whole trip.

The girls at the pier..Amber, Nicole, Me, Crissy, Emily and Sarah

This was taken on our first night while we were waiting to be called to our table for dinner. All the boys...Nick, Chris, Derek, Ryan, Joe, and Dane

The girls the same night...Amber, Emily, Me, Nicole, Crissy, and Sarah
We had a great time, and for those of you wondering about our kids...they had a great time too. Thanks to Aunt Lucy, Uncle Mike, and Nana Flynt our kids were well taken care of. I'm not sure when we will get to go on one of these trips again, but it sure was a blast.

Swimming Lessons

Carter started swimming lessons last week before we went on vacation. Although it did not start out how I would have hoped (he cried for the first 5mins), he has done great every other day. He goes to this lady who does them out of her house, and she does such a great job. He seems to like them, and will finish up this week. I know he won't be an expert after these, but it at least gets him more comfortable with the water.

Carter and his friend Lydia who also takes swim lessons with him.

4 year drought...one crazy night!

Well, Amber and I were some crazy girls last night. We decided yesterday morning that we were going to go to the Wal-Mart Shareholders concert to see Sugarland and Brad Paisley. For those of you who know me, I am a HUGE fan of Brad, and well so is Amber. So, we decided we would go wait in line to get in with the "public" when the doors opened. We took some food hoping to eat it in line while we waited, but then had to throw it away, as we met some "friends" aka Wal-mart associates that let us go in with them. Thanks Charles and Steve for making Amber and I your friends. So, people had been waiting there for hours I'm sure, we walk up and get right in. It was awesome...we also had great seats.

A little backgroung: Amber and I went and saw Brad, Sugarland and Sara Evans 4 years ago in KC. So, this was kind of a reunion for all of us. It was a great girls night out, and I'm sure one that Dane and Chris were glad that they missed...I mean me and Amber get crazy with Brad!!!

Sugarland...Jennifer Nettles has definitely gotten a little more energetic on the stage from 4 yrs ago

My favorite....Brad Paisley
