Shots, shots, and more shots...

The girls had their 2 mth checkup yesterday, and overall it went really well. They are perfect...of course, and they are growing like weeds. Here are the stats:

Kennedy
9lbs 10ozs (25%)
22" (50%)

Bailey
10lbs 9ozs (50%)
22" (50%)

They hated the shots, especially Bailey but they were really quick so that helped.

And I am happy to report that they slept through the night last night, well to 5:45, which I consider through the night. Not to say they will do it again tonight, but at least I know they can.

New Toy and finally a smile...

The girls got a new toy from their cousin Brady, so we decided to get it out yesterday. They seemed to like it. Bailey seems to like just laying on the ground looking around, so it was right up her alley. Kennedy always gets really excited and kicks her legs, so she was constantly hitting the flowers that played music. Overall, I think their first experience with the toy was a good one.

This is a really funny picture...every since Carter would go to my pregnancy checkups and see her measure my belly he thinks that he can measure too. So, here he is measuring Kennedy...I guess we should take him to their appointment this afternoon, he might be a big helper for the nurse.

We have seen smiles from both of the girls for a few weeks now, however, I never seem to catch them on camera. But finally on Sunday I got a smile from Kennedy. Still waiting to catch one from Bailey on camera...Such a sweet smile Kennedy gave though.

Valentines Day...better late than never

Here are a few pictures from our Valentines Day. We went to our Sunday School class Valentines Party, where we played the Newlywed game and enjoyed some good food. Then we headed to Chris's mom's house and had dinner with his grandpa and JoAnn.

Here is Bailey before we left for church party

Aren't they adorable...

Sweet Pics

Carter seems to be wanting to sit wherever the girls are here lately.

This is one night before bedtime...the only thing missing is me :( I told Chris I don't have any pictures with all the kids with me since we came home from hospital. I will try to get better.

I love this picture...Bailey is on the right, and she is totally looking at Carter, she already loves her big brother. Again, can you see that Carter wants to be right in the middle of everything.

Super Star...

Well, we have a little Super Star on our hands. Bailey did so great during the night. She ate really good, and slept really good. She only seemed uncomfortable once, but they gave her some tylenol and it seemed to work. Here is a picture of her this morning. If you notice her left hand, she has a splint type thing on her hand to keep her IV in. It does not seem to bother her at all.

On another note, Kennedy did well too. She went home with Nana Flynt last night, and she said she did really well there as well.

Thanks to Amber and Nana Flynt who have been keeping Carter and now Kennedy. I don't know what we would have done without them, we did not worry at all about Carter and Kennedy because they were with them.

Again, thanks to everyone for the prayers, we definitely felt them.

Bailey's Surgery Update

Sorry for the delay in getting the update out to everyone. The day started out good, but then Bailey's surgery was 2 hrs late in getting started. I guess the surgery before hers went a little longer than anticipated, therefore, we were pushed back. Yes, that means we did not get in until 6:30 PM. So, by 9:00 PM she was out of recovery, and finally got some food. Everything went great, and we were very happy with the doctor. I am just glad that it is over, and hopefully everything will go smoothly from here on out. Thanks to everyone who was saying prayers for all of us today, we really felt them when we needed them most. I am not going to lie, giving my child to the nurse to walk to surgery was one of the hardest things, but then seeing her in recovery hooked up to all the monitors, etc was just as hard. But Bailey is a very strong girl, and she did amazing.

Her sister was there for support...

This is how Bailey was the entire time. Even though the surgery was not happening on time, she was calm the entire time. And the fact that she had not eaten in a while, she was very good. We are so blessed.

Week in Review

Last week was full of doctor appts., sickness, and of course some fun was thrown in there. Chris ended up getting strep throat, so we all thought we had it for a while, but after Carter and I went to get checked out we were in the clear. I however, think I had a 24 hr flu, as I was so sick last Sunday night into Monday night. I hate being sick, so at least it did not last that long. It is really hard taking care of 3 kids when you don't feel well, so I am grateful to be a healthy individual.

This is our crazy son in my boots after church on Sunday. It was so funny and disturbing all at the same time.

Kennedy and Bailey just chillin on the floor, I can't believe how big they are getting.

This was after their first bath that they had where they did not scream the entire time. I think we figured out what we were doing...giving them a bath right before feeding, hello they were starving. So, we changed it up a bit and gave them a bath after feeding. We are getting smarter...

Kennedy had her echo last week, and everything came back normal. Just like the doctor said, it will close up on its own. Praise the Lord!!!

Bailey had her ultrasound last week on her kidney, and we went back in yesterday to meet with the doctor. She still has a very inflated kidney, so they will have to go in and do surgery. We will head to Joplin next Wed for her surgery. It is only a 30 min surgery, but she will have to stay overnight. Please pray that everything goes well, and that although this is very routine surgery that she will recover well. And also, pray for Chris and I that we will have peace during the time that she is in surgery. We know it could be so much worse, as far as illness goes, but it is still hard to have your 2 mth old go in for surgery. So please just PRAY!!!

A Day of Fun at Nana's

On unfortunate circumstances Russ and Ashley came into town (Russ's Grandma passed). But on a brighter note, we got to see them and of course Holt. So, when they went to the funeral Nana got to keep Holt. So, we decided we would go over to her house and visit with them, and let Carter see Holt.

This is what Carter and Paige love to do at Nana's. I think they feel it is helping her, however, when they create a water puddle on her floor I don't think it is really helping. But they LOVE it.

Here Holt is...he is so close to crawling, he does however do a great "worm" as Amber calls it. Isn't he adorable. The furry thing in front is Trixie (Russ and Ashley's dog), and we love seeing her too...

Follow up Appts

Dr. Sarver with Kennedy (left) and Bailey (right)

Monday was a very big day for us, Bailey had her follow up ultrasound, and I had my 6 week follow appt with Dr. Sarver. I know, can you believe that it has already been 6 weeks.

Bailey's ultrasound went well, she slept through the whole thing which was such a blessing. We will find out hopefully today or tomorrow if she will have to have surgery or not. We are still praying that it is at least a little smaller than the one that she had when she was born. I will be sure to let you all know as soon as I find out.

My appt went well, and I was really glad that I went since I was having flu like symptoms. I went to bed Sunday night with chills, and probably a high fever, however I never took it. I was very weak when I woke up on Monday, but I still needed to get Bailey to doctor. After her appt when we got home I took my temp and it as 102, so I fed the girls, took some medicine and took a nap when they went down. I woke up much better, but kept having hot flashes. Overall, I think it was a 24 hr thing, because by that evening I was feeling better. It just reminded me how much I hate being sick...

Anyway, since we got released on Christmas Eve, we did not get to see our doctor again. So, the girls finally got to meet her at my appt. She was so excited to see them, and wanted to know all about them. If you remember me mentioning before, Dr. Sarver had a set of twin girls last year in Dec.

Tuesday we had a follow up appt for Kennedy. At her 1 mth appt the doctor thought he heard a murmur in her heart, and although he was not concerned AT ALL, he wanted to have it checked on. So we went to the Arkansas Childrens Hospital clinic in Lowell to have an echo done on her. She did really well, but of course as it got closer to feeding time she was not that happy. Anyway, we should know more on her in the next few days as well. She was weighed at the appt and is weighing 8lbs 10ozs...so our littlest one is growing like crazy.
