A different type of Storytime...

Wednesdays are normally storytime at the local library for us, but since it is Spring Break it was cancelled this week. However, don't fear we did get to experience a new type of storytime. Nickelodeon came to Fayetteville to the Walton Arts Center. So, some of our friends and us made plans to go see The Backyardigans, Ni Hao Kai-lan, Wonder Pets, and Dora LIVE!!! I know you are all excited, I mean I was. Really we don't watch a whole lot of Nick, we prefer playhouse Disney, but Carter has watched the shows before. I was a little afraid of what he would think of the "mascots," he normally hates them, but he actually was not scared at all. He enjoyed the 1 hr 45 min show, and it held his attention the whole time. I think the best part for the mommies was getting to eat at Loafin Joes. I love that place and normally don't get to eat it, even when I go to Fayetteville. It was a great mom/son date with some friends!!!

This is Carter and his friend Ella, they looked just like twins that day it was so funny. She normally goes to the library with us on Wednesdays too.

We took some pictures outside the WAC before the show...

Ella, Carter and our friend Justus....it was really hard to get them all to sit there.

Tried to get some pictures of them sitting, but their faces were hilarious...

Justus is a couple of months older than the girls, and he did so good during the whole show. I can't imagine taking the girls...they would have been all over...

15 mth check-ups

Today we had the girls 15 mth check-ups, man I can't believe they are getting so big. It was a great appt, and the doctor said they looked great and seem to be right on track with everything. I say this as all the kids were running around or screaming like monkeys in the room as the doctor walks in. Seems kind of funny that they put us in the jungle themed room. :) Here are their stats:

Kennedy:
30 1/2" (50%)
19lbs 6ozs (10% - but staying consistent as every other month)

Bailey:
30 3/4" (a little over 50%)
23lbs 6ozs (50%)

Overall they did great, and we are so proud of them for the good report. On a sad note, our doctor is leaving again. Yes, I guess we keep running them off. Our last doctor left for the mission field, and not this one is staying at the practice but doing research. Oh well, I guess it is good to see all the doctors there.

We only thought SPRING had come...

We only thought that with several days the last few weeks of over 60 degrees that Spring had finally arrived. And then comes the actual first day of Spring, and we get 8-10" of snow on the ground. It started Saturday afternoon and did not stop until Sunday afternoon. It was crazy, and I saw some of the biggest flakes I think I had ever seen fall on Sunday. And to top it all off, we had a fuse that went out in our heater, so we woke up on Sunday morning with no heat. So, after church we crashed Nana Flynt's house until we could figure out what was wrong with it. Thanks to Chris and Dane we were able to get the heater back going, and able to come home. I am SO READY for spring to finally get here for good, and no more cold snowy days. The crazy thing is, it is supposed to be 65 degrees again tomorrow. What is going on?

Pallet Obsession

Carter is obsessed with pallets, and getting to sleep on them, especially with his dad. So, Saturday night he asked his dad to sleep on a pallet in the living room, eat popcorn and watch UP. He is so much like his father it is not even funny. But to see his face light up when we are making the pallet, makes me so excited. I don't think it excites Chris as much, but he does it anyway, what a good DAD!!! And by the way, Carter loves to help make the pallet and fold up the blankets when they are done.

Band in the making...

The other day the kids thought they would try to start their own band...at such a young age, I am so impressed. If you make the picture bigger you can see that they are totally looking at Carter for what to do. It was so funny, that for once they were not standing or sitting on the table but actually sitting in the chairs. I love that they look up to their brother so much.

Kennedy's First Haircut

As if you could not tell from all the pictures I post of Kennedy, her hair is out of control. She doesn't like it when I put it in a ponytail or in a headband, so I decided to get a little trim done. So, off to my friend Nicole for her first haircut. She actually did really well sitting on my lap and keeping her head the way Nicole wanted her to. It still is crazy most of the time, but it is at least trimmed up.

And most importantly we got rid of the baby mullet. She looks so cute with her new do...

A little light reading...

The girls love some books. The other day I actually caught them reading together. This rarely happens. Most of the time, they end up stealing each others books and making the other one mad. Oh and they LOVE Carter's chair, that is there favorite place to read.

New Playroom!!!

I have finally gotten tired of the toys that were over taking my living room. So, we decided to take down our dining room table and store it, and turn the dining room into the toy room. It is so nice to actually see the floor in my living room again, now if just the kids can get used to playing in there.

We got flooring from SAMs, and hopefully the kids won't try to tear it apart.

They really do like it, just takes a while to get used to I think.

We have WAY TOO MANY TOYS!!!! That is what I came to realize with the move

Sneaky little girls....

Not only does Bailey sit and stand on the table, she pushes it around the kitchen most days. I just think she looks so cute and a little sneaky in the picture.

Kennedy loves to be a part of the action. This is what she does most nights when I am cooking dinner. Just so funny...

Pillow Time

The kids absolutely love to pile all the pillows up and then run and jump on them, or in the girls case get thrown on them. We could spend all day doing this and they would think it was the best. I mean why do we buy toys?

All the kiddos stopping for a minute to pose for me
