Carter's Playdates

I know it has been a while since I have updated our blog, but literally our weeks fly by and before I know it we are at Monday again. Last week on Thursday Carter got the chance to play with a lot of his friends. Paige came over in the morning to play while Amber went for her doctors appt (she is due on the 20th of June). Then that afternoon his friend Ava came over to play while her mom went and got a pedicure (she is due on July 4th). Anyways, he had a great time with all of his friends. Jaxon came over while Ava was here so that they could all play together. As you can see from the pictures, they had a great time. I am glad that we have such great friends and family that all have kids the same age that Carter can have days like this. He really does get so excited when you say that one of them is coming over.

Two Peas in a Pod

For those of you who don't know, Chris is building us some built-in selves in our living. He has one side completely done (except for painting) and is working on the other side as I sit here and type. Anyways, the shelves have some cabinets in them, and since they are empty right now, they have become Carter's favorite place to be. This is a picture I took one night when Paige came over to visit. Don't they both look so innocent. I think it is so funny that at Easter we could not get them both to sit next to each other for a professional picture, but now they posed so well. When Chris is done with the shelves I will post some pictures. He is doing such a good job on them, I can't wait to see the final project.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Carter gave me concert tickets to Carrie Underwood and Josh Turner. The concert was in LR on Sunday night, so it was a long day and night. But it was totally worth it. Chris and I left Sunday afternoon, and was able to eat dinner with our friends Joe and Nicole who were in LR as well. While we were at the concert Carter got to hang out with Nana Flynt. We all had a good time, and I really appreciate Carter and Chris thinking of such a gift for me.

Uncle Joe's Memorial

So, they decided to do a memorial for my Uncle Joe last Saturday. We had a potluck and singing, and it was exactly as he would have wanted it. All of the brothers sang several songs, as well as, anyone else who wanted to sing something. The only one that was missing from the brothers picture was my Aunt Lavon, I am not sure why they did not let her sing.

Light at the End of Tunnel!

After the horrible week that our family has had this week, I got a call yesterday about Linda Bush. For those of you who might not remember her, she is the Childrens Director at our church, and back in January was diagnosed with breast cancer. This cancer was all over her body by the time they found it, so it literally would have taken a miracle to cure. Well, God has provided us a miracle. She had some tests done last week, and got the results of being CANCER FREE this week. What an amazing thing that God has done!!! I just wanted to share with each of you what a bless Linda has been through this entire process. She is constantly standing in her faith, and sharing it even when she goes to chemo. She is truly an example to all of us, and our kids are going to be very blessed by having her around for a long time. She has 3 chemo treatments left, so continue to pray for her as she goes through these, but I want to thank all of you for your prayers for her and her family during this rough time.

Hard Week!

This has been a very different week for our family. On Sunday afternoon, I found out that a co-worker at Rubbermaid had passed away. This was a very shocking, and my office was completely devastated by the news. So, needless to say Monday was very tough for all of us at work, but they did a very good job of dealing with this tough time.

Then on Monday morning, I got a call from my mom saying that my Uncle Joe was in the hospital in Siloam in ICU. Uncle Joe is the youngest of 8 kids on my dad's side. This was very hard to hear, but thought that everything was going to be fine. So, as I was on my way to Siloam that afternoon to see him, I received a call letting me know that he had passed away. This was so hard to hear, and I thought I was going to be sick. I was in Gentry at the time, so I turned around and headed to Dane and Amber's house (Chris' sister's house). So, poor Dane had to be there to console me, I apologized over and over again. Anyway, Uncle Joe is the first on of my dad's siblings to die, and is a very tough time for our family as we are all VERY CLOSE. Uncle Joe has 2 kids, a son that is graduating in 2 weeks, and a daughter that is 13.

My whole point in telling you all this, is I am wanting each of you to say a quick prayer for my co-workers family and my family. All I can say, is that I am definitely ready for this week to be over!

Playground Fun!

Last Sunday our Sunday School class had a picnic after church and played on the new playground at the church. It was a great fellowship, and the kids loved the playground. As you can see Carter is not afraid of anything....he was climbing up the ladder pretty much by himself, and then would slide down without any help. It is amazing how big he is. I love how much he loves being outside, and seeing him try new things for the first time.
