Weekend Away

Well, last weekend I was able to meet my best friend Candy for a little girls getaway in Nashville. It was so much fun, and great to just hang out with her and just relax. We did a lot of shopping, eating, more shopping and eating, and most importantly just relaxing. We had a great hotel and the weather was perfect for walking downtown. It was an incredible weekend, and am so excited that I was able to get away for a little bit. Candy is due in May, so this was really our last chance to do this before her little guy arrives. We had some great people that kept our kids while we were gone, and therefore, did not have to worry at all. Thanks to all who kept the kids, we could not have done it without you. I sure miss Candy, and I can't wait to see her more than once or twice a year. We do plan to do this at least once a year from now on, so Chris and Kyle watch out. Thanks to them for giving us this great Christmas gift!

This was us downtown in front of the river and Titans stadium. We didn't take a lot of pictures, but hey at least I got one on here.

Another Snow Storm

Snow has pretty much been the story around here for most of Jan. and Feb. This time Dane and Chris took the kids out to some family friends where they got to sled down a hill and ride the 4-wheeler, or at least get pulled by the 4-wheeler. We got some funny videos of the kids, but I don't have those. I think they are loving all the snow and sledding they are getting to do. And then of course we finish up with some good food and hot cocoa at Nana's. Amber and I went out when the little ones were napping, but no pics just videos of that. I will try to load a couple of those. Chris had an awesome landing off the ramp that him and Dane built.

Dane got this great intertube that you use at the lake, but worked perfec for what they wanted to do.

Chris and Carter

Not really sure what Chris is doing

Apparently Paige did a lot of snow eating.

First of Many...

Well, I am so sorry I have not updated the blog in a while. We got some amazing snow, then our WHOLE family got the stomach bug, then the girls got RSV, then more snow, plus I am in the midst of basketball season. But enough with the excuses...here is the first of the updates:

We got some amazing snow/ice around New Years, and so we bundled up the kids and dads and went out to play. They loved it, and it was only going down the hill by Nana Flynt's house.

Carter and Paige loving it...

The guys were big hits and great dads for pulling the kids up and pushing them down

Carter loved it and laughed everytime he came down the hill

Look at that smile...

Chris was waving at the girls and Brady, they were sitting in the window. Check out the snowman, the snow was too fluffy it would not stick together, so they had to use a bucket and do like a sand castle.

This is what the girls and Brady did..that thought it was awesome

Carter and Paige and their snowman, can you see the girls in the back? So Funny

Rolling in the New Year...

One of the couples at church that work with the pre-school kids hosted a skating party on New Years Eve. There were door prizes, food, and lots of skating. Carter loved it!!!! He had never been before, and I can't tell you the last time that Chris and I had gone. Even the girls go to skate as long as they were in their stroller.

Can you guess which one had a better time?

Carter doing a dance on skates

Carter did push one of the girls most of the time around the skating rink, he did such a good job and was so proud of himself.

We are so blessed to have the Hulls in our lives, but most importantly Carter's and the girls. They have such a huge heart for kids, and constantly show them love. What a way to bring in the New Year!

Christmas with Candy

My best friend Candy came home over Christmas/New Years with her family from NC, and we got to spend some time together. Although it was not long enough, it was great to see her, Kohen and Kyle. Man, I sure do miss them. Can't wait for them to come home soon!!!

While they were here, Chris and I got to go out on a date with her and Kyle. We had dinner at JJs, then went to Fastlanes to play some games. It was such a fun night, and we are so blessed to have family to babysit our kids so we could go out.

Chris and Kyle before they started their engines...

It would not be any fun if Kyle did not break out in dance. It was so funny watching him do this.

Kyle and Chris competed against each other in this shooting game...poor cows kept getting shot

Right before she left...Kohen was not feeling well and was in the car so he was not in the picture. It was great seeing her, but it just makes me miss her even more. We talk everyday, but nothing takes the place of seeing your best friend in person more than twice a year.

Then and Now...

Just wanted to post a picture of the our family and the girls this time last year...What a difference a year makes...

They gave us these stockings at the hospital...Can you believe they both fit in there? Now it is hard to even get them to sit/stand by each other for a picture. (Kennedy on Left/Bailey on Right)

I posted some of the kids pictures a while ago, but thought I would post a few more.

Can you tell how much Carter loves them? They are so lucky to have him as their older brother

We went to the doctor on Tuesday for their 1 yr checkup, here are some stats for Kennedy:
17lbs 8ozs (5% - but consistent)
29 1/2" (60%)
She had an ear infection in her left ear, but other than that she had a great checkup. She is walk, running, CLIMBING, TALKING, very mischievous, and just so funny. I hear over and over again how much she looks and acts like I did when I was a kid. I am beginning to feel for what my parents went through.

Doesn't see just look rotten?

Stats for Bailey:
21lbs 8ozs (60%)
30 1/4" (90%)
She had no ear infection, however, he told us she was cutting about 3 teeth. This child has not cut 1 tooth at a time, she normally cuts them in multiples so we were not surprised at all. She is crawling, pulling up, starting to climb on things (thanks to sister), talking/babbling, takes several steps but not walking yet, pushes stuff around the house, and LOVES TO CUDDLE!

It was funny I was talking to our pastor and his wife the other day, and they were asking if the girls are anything alike? As much as I would have thought they would be very similar, they are so very different. I love that they both have their own personality, interest, and demeanor. I can't wait to see how they grow up to see what might change or switch between them. And I can only pray now that both of them are not the OCD/Type A personality....Carter and I are enough for one household. :)

Our Ladybugs Turned ONE!!!

Last Saturday we had the girls 1st Birthday Party!! It was a ladybug theme, and I thought it would be cool to make them some tutus for the occasion. They really didn't mind them too much. My only regret is that I could not get them to stand or sit next to each other to get a picture of them together. Oh well, I did get some cute pictures of them. We are so grateful for friends and family that made their birthday so special!!

Our family....a little crazy, but I love them.

I had to wake the girls up from their nap for their party, and this was right after I brought Bailey out

This is how Kennedy always sits in this chair...

Not really sure why she is crawling, I guess she thought it would be fun.

Opening some gifts...Carter was such a big help

Bailey was excited

She loved the new baby she got, I think a little too much...thanks Renae

Then there was cake...

Kennedy got into it a lot more than Bailey...I think she was exhausted at this point.

Look at that face, I think I have an identical picture of me with cake on my face. I guess I need to look for it.

Our cheeser...not quite as messy

Thanks again to all those who made their day so special!!! We love you all
