Fun with the Morris Family

Last weekend we finally got to get together with our friends Rich and Renee Morris and their sweet girl Sallie. It was so much fun, the boys got to golf, we got to play outside with kids, and most importantly just hang out with our dear friends. Isn't it crazy how their little girl looks like Kennedy and Bailey.

Carter, Sallie, Bailey, and Kennedy

Carter and Sallie really loved playing and hanging with each other...do we see a match in the future

Papa Time

Our kids love their papa's, and they got to spend some time with each of them a couple weeks go.

Here are the girls with my dad during their naptime...I guess they would not fall asleep in their own bed, so softy Papa Webb let them sleep on him. Funny thing is looking at Kennedy here, I know there is a picture of me just like that on my dad asleep. This is the first time I have really thought she looks like me. I am going to try and find it at some point and compare. Carter was being good and sleeping in his room. :)

Papa Flynt came over for breakfast one Saturday morning, and if you can't tell the kids loved it when he would read to them. You would think they would have set on the couch, but nope they all piled in the hard chair in the kitchen.

Girls Weekend Away

My last trip before our 4th arrives was spent in Chicago with my friend Renae. She turned 30 this week, and decided for her birthday to have some fun in Chicago and of course catch a Nascar race in the process. We have both been there several times for work, but never for pleasure, so we had a great time touring the city.

The beach...it was amazing, and right off a major street

View from the beach, it is such a pretty city with all the tall buildings

We rode the ferris wheel at Navy Pier, don't worry it goes like 2 miles an hour (takes 7 mins), but gives you a great view of Chicago

Another view...the funny thing is my friend had her eyes closed most of the time, she doesn't really like heights

We tend to run into celebrities or some sort of hollywood thing whenever we are together. When we went to Daytona 500, we saw filming/building of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. This trip was no different. As we were going to the Willis Tower (used to be Sears Tower) we ran into Paramont Pictures unloading several burnt cars. So we continued on but came back after. Turns out they were setting up to film Transformers 3. So, like any normal person, we went back the net morning to see filming.

View from Willis Tower...we were on the 103th floor 1,945ft up, again such an amazing view
especially at night

View from the glass walkout area

Back the next morning at the filming of scenes from the movie. I think we saw about 4 scenes being shot

This sign was just so funny to see

This was the camera guy following the cars driving down the road, truly is amazing to see how the filming was done

Now onto the race, this is Mark Martin in case your are not a Nascar expert... :)

One of the only pictures I got of me and Renae...Happy 30th Renae, I had a blast.

Happy 4th and another road trip...

We decided to join Chris's mom and sisters families on their little vacation for just a few days. They were there the whole week, but we just crashed their party for 2 days. We were at the Lake of the Ozarks in Osage Beach, MO. It was such a nice place and right on the beach. It was so fun to hang out with them even if for only a few days. We had fun on the lake, saw some great fireworks on the 4th, and had some great fam time.

There are a lot of pics, so I won't explain them all. However, this jet ski has been with Amber and Chris since 1995, and yes, it still runs like a champ. It was a lot of fun...especially for kids.

All the kids playing on steps, well expect Bailey and Marin

So cute...

At a local golf course watching fireworks...yes in pjs :)

These need some commentary...we thought it would be cool to visit Ha Ha Tonka State Park and go hiking. Please remind me how taking 7 kids (3 & under) on a hike, plus 2 pregnant gals. It got a little hot and sticky, but the view that we saw made it somewhat bearable.

We tried strollers, they didn't really work

Here is probably the only smile she had the whole time, poor girls sweats like crazy and HATES being HOT.

This was such a pretty view, if you blow it up, there is a castle on the right.

Back at lake for some hot dog time...

While the kids napped we had some pretty memorable activities going on...the boys decided to kayak (sp?)...Dane and Russ took a little time to get the hang of it, it was quite humerous though

Then the slip and slide action started....the boys again showed us their talent, followed by Ashley and she by far was the funniest. What great memories we made, so glad we were able to join them for a few days.

18 mth checkups

Last week the girls had their 18 mth checkups. They checked out well, and let me tell you how much crazier it gets with 2 mobile toddlers with an almost 4 yr old brother. Let's just say the doctors visit was crazy. Here are some stats:

Kennedy
21lbs 3ozs (10%)
32" (little over 50%)

Bailey
25lbs 8ozs (50%)
31 3/4" (little over 50%, and not sure they didn't measure her wrong)

Kennedy is talking more and more everyday, she tries to repeat everything you say, sometimes cute sometimes not. And Bailey is just rotten, stubborn, and a little high maintenance. Overall, they are 2 very different girls with 2 very different personalities. It's amazing how twins can be so different

Family Pics

Wanted to share our latest family pictures...we went to this old barn, it was a perfect setting and the pictures turned out so good. There are so many good ones, but I didn't want to overload you so here are a few. It was crazy getting all 3 to sit still and smile, can you imagine adding one more to the mix.

This is very appropriate...Bailey always has her hand in her mouth

One more try...Bailey is about to take off and Kennedy wouldn't smile

One of the only ones we could get with the girls together, no smiles, but still cute

Look at our big man...

The eyes are amazing

The girl loves to smile

One of the better ones of the kids together, too bad Carter was smiling too much

Isn't this adorable...he loves them so much

Bailey wasn't quite as excited about him hugging her

Last Stop

How could I forgot, our last stop...Memphis, TN

We did not know we were going to be stopping here, but when we left Virginia we were making good time, so we decided to try and make it to our friends Matt and Alecia's house. Although, we were there for less than 12 hours, it was SO good to see them. It has been such a long time since we saw them, and was good to catch up even in the short amount of time. They were gracious enough to let us crash their house on such short notice. I wish that I would have taken some pictures with them, but of course my camera was in the car the whole time we were there. But I didn't want them to think we had not remembered our time there, and how much we enjoyed it.
