A Good Cause....

Today I wanted to let you all know an organization that our family is volunteering at.  Chris has been volunteering at Horses for Healing for over a couple years now (when its not in tax season), and loves every time he goes out there.  If you want to learn more about the organization you can go here:  Horses for Healing

They are a non profit organization where disabled kids go to find comfort from horses.  It has been proven that horses can help these children become independent, etc.

Today, they held a Special Olympics event, and it  was so special to see these kids out there who are becoming more and more independent and trusting the horse more and more everytime they get on him/her.  I am just in awe of these creatures and children.

How am I involved you ask?  Well, back in December Chris told me that the organization needed a new chair for their Barn Dance and he thought I would be perfect for it.  If you know Chris, you know he doesn't volunteer me for anything, as I do that enough on my own...I just can't say NO.  Anyway, he offered up my name, and now I am the chair for the Barn Dance, which is their big event that occurs every year in June where they make up almost a third to half of their money for the year.  So, let me tell you it is a BIG event.  None the less, I have already been blessed by the people that work with this organization and their ability to help, contribute, and volunteer where needed.  I encourage you to take a look at their organization, I know you will be blessed as well.

And just in case you all are free on June 15th:  you can definitely get a ticket ask me how!!!!

Friday Night Drive In Picnic

It has become quite the tradition to have a Friday Night Picnic in our living room.  We did it when the boys were out of town a couple weeks ago, and a few times before that.  Well, since the weather was yucky on Friday night we decided to have pizza, picnic, and Wreck It Ralph.  The kids love it, and I love the easy of it all.

Here is my sweet family enjoying a quiet night at home...wait who am I kidding it is NEVER quiet.  :)

Lego Mania...

If you know Carter you know he LOVES legos...a lot like his dad.  Well this weekend has been a great time to stay in and play considering it was freezing out and snowing.  Carter wanted to separate all of his legos by color and put them into different containers by color...so my child.  :)

Here he is with only a few left to sort...

Kennedy got some legos for Christmas from Nana Flynt, and so all the girls got to play legos as well.  Love that they are creative in what they build.

And although it was raining and snowing all weekend we had such a fun time playing inside and making the best of our days.

Chick Fil A Cow...

Last night, well let's face it most Thursday nights we end up at Chick Fil A for dinner.  And last night we had a surprise visit from the Cow.  And if you know my kids you know they are not excited about mascot type things, which is funny because I coach cheerleaders where there is a mascot.  Anyways, Carter and Bailey loved the cow and wanted to follow him around all night giving him High 5's.  Kennedy and Molly on the other hand did not.

Record Breaking Day!!!!

On this 3rd day of May we woke up to SNOW...yes you are reading that right SNOW.  This is the first time in Arkansas history, and probably any place that I have lived where I have ever seen snow in May.  There were places that had up to 3 inches, unbelievable.  What you can't see is that it is still snowing at the time I took this picture.  Oh well, I am sure we will get to the heat of the summer soon enough, so we better enjoy the snow (cool weather) while we can.

CrAzY Weather!?!?!?!?!?

I wanted to take today and document the CrAzY weather we are having here on the 2nd day of May.  I can't believe that there are little snow flakes on 2 different days.  Let me remind you in case you were not aware, it was 75-80 degrees Mon-Wed, and then today it is freezing.  I know we will be thankful for these cooler days when it is 112 this summer, but it is a little extreme to me.

So bundle up in your jacket (and if you know me you know I don't wear one), and head to school or work.  Better yet, if you can stay home do it.  :)

We are also supposed to have a TBall game tonight, thinking that is NOT going to happen.

My BIG Boy!!!!

Not the best picture, but I got these in Carter's folder yesterday from school.  I can't believe that he is going to be finished with Kindergarten in less than a month.  How precious he looks, don't you think?  My BIG boy is growing up so fast.  He loves school, and I hope that continues.
