Our Time with Friends

Carter and his future wife cruising in her car. He absolutely loved it, but wasn't quite long enough to push peddles, so she was pushing them while he drove.

Carter was such a big help when it was time for Embrey to eat. He would put her burp cloth underneath her chin, and then stop every once in a while and wipe her mouth. And the entire time he was feeding her, he didn't want any help from us. Such a big helper he will be come December.

Chris and Embrey hanging out. She is such a sweet little girl, don't mind the face that Chris is making.

Face Update

I wanted to give everyone an update on my face situation. I got a call on Wednesday saying that they got everything within the area that they took the skin from on Monday, this was great news. So, I went back this morning (Thurs) to have the actual spot taken out, and to have it repaired. Before I went this morning, the doctor had drawn out how he thought my scar would look. I was a little scared as it was a pretty big scar that he was talking about. Even this morning he was not optomist about the smaller of the scar chances. But as he got in there, he determined that he did not have to go all the way down my cheek, so long story short, I got the shorter of the scars. It is still 3.5 cms long from my eye to about the end of my nose, but it is much better than the alternative. I got around 24 stitches, and have to wear the same type of bandage that I had on the other day for at least 24 hours to help apply pressure. So, come Saturday I should be able to take off the bandage and have a much smaller one. I am hoping that the scar will fade over time to be less noticeable, but I am just thankful that they got it all and it is over. If you think about it, please say a quick prayer for quick recovery and not too much pain.

I am so Beautiful

Well, yesterday was the day that my face surgery started. For those of you that may not know, I had a mole on my face, that came back as severe dysplastia when I visited the dermotologist. So, my dermotologist sent me to another guy that does this kind of surgery on the face all the time (literally everyday). So, yesterday, he took a part of the skin to make sure that the area that he got contained all of the affected area. Then, he sent it off to the lab. If it comes back that he got everything, I will go in on Wed or Thurs to get the spot removed completely, and a skin/cheek lift done to replace the hole that he is taking out. Right now I have 4 stitches in the area that he worked on yesterday, and because they are only temporary stitches and it is an open wound, I have this beautiful bandage on my face. I have to leave it on there until I go back to see him later this week. As you can see, I have not done much this morning when I took the picture, I more just wanted people to see what it looked like. I am not in any pain, it just really itches where the tape is. Carter did not know what to think when he got home yesterday, but now he just tries to take it off.

Also, yesterday we had out baby appt. I am 15 weeks now, so it was time to go back and finally hear the heartbeats. It was so great to hear both of them beating. Both were very strong. We go back in Aug to find out what we are having. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we start to prepare for twins.

Our Friend...Gardner

One of Chris's fraternity brothers and our friend Gardner recently returned from Iraq for 2 weeks. His family had a dinner for him on Saturday night, and invited us over to join in the fun. It was great to be a part of this special time with them. We also got a chance last night (Monday) to spend some time with just him and his wife Leah and their 2 daughters. It was a blast, and very special time for us. We are grateful to have friends like them.

Morris Baby Shower

This past weekend, I teamed up with several ladies to throw my dear friend Renee a baby shower. The decor was so beautiful, and we all had such a great time. Renee is due at the end of August, and looks so amazing.

Naturals Game

We decided to take in some baseball on Tuesday night. Carter has yet to go to a Naturals game, so we thought it might be nice to take him. He did rather well for him being contained to the bleachers. We had great seats that we got from some friends, and he even got to play in the playground that they have at the ballpark. We had a great time, but were totally exhausted by the time we left the park.

4th of July activities....

Well, we had a great 4th of July with our friends and family. It all started out with the Rodeo of the Ozarks that we went to on Thursday night with some friends. It was Carter's first rodeo, and he did rather well considering he was confined to bleachers. Then on Friday, we had the Webb Family annual Road Rally. Although we did not win (we came in 2nd), we had a good time and its great to know that my family still knows how to have fun and be competitive. That night we attended our churches annual FourthFest, where the choir sang several songs before an awesome fireworks show. And then finally Saturday, we spent the day with the Lightners over at Chris's mom's house. We passed babies around, swam, and most importantly ate. It seems like we were very busy, but we had a great time with everyone!!! We are truly blessed to have such amazing friends and family that we can enjoy these times with.

These are my cousins (l to r) Lou, Holly and Melissa who decided to make their own fake teeth out of the watermelon rine. These are some great lookin ladies....
