Special lunch time date...

Last week when I was in Fayetteville for my radio debut I was able to meet up with Candy to have a yummy lunch!!!

You would think with us living 40 mins apart we would see each other more, but NO that is not the case.  It's hard when we both have kids (and me :)) that are very involved in activities that keeps us apart.  And the fact that I rarely coming to Springdale or Fayetteville for anything.

It is very sad, but at least I get to talk to her every day while coming into work.  And on the occassional surprise lunches we have the best time!  Sure love the times that I do get to spend with this girl!!!!

The other crazy part is they have just sold their house, so they too will be building soon!!!  Crazy how we end up doing things at the same time the majority of times.

Thanks Candy for taking a little time out of your day to eat with me...had a great time!

Radio Debut...

Last week I had the priviledge to make my radio debut (will air the morning of May 11th) and talk about Horses for Healing.  It was such an honor to talk about an amazing non profit organization that I have come to love and enjoy being a part of.  KIX 104 is one of our sponsors for the event, so myself and Linda went and spoke on behalf of HfH.  I got to meet the morning show guys, Jake and Woody, and let me tell you they sound just the same in person as they do on air in my car.  They act just the same as well...

Jake is the one that we did the interview with, and he was so easy to talk to and made my first radio experience an enjoyable one.  My next one will be in June, and it will be LIVE...oh my goodness won't that be exciting!

If you think about it listen to KIX104 on Sunday, May 11th sometime between 6-8 AM, as we talk about HfH and what an amazing organization they are.

Easter Sunday...

We had such a great Easter this year, and we were so excited to get to spend the morning at church and then the afternoon/evening with family.

This is the crew before church...just love these kids...

sadly, we did not get a family picture on Easter...I promise I was there...
See this is the only picture of me the whole day...the price you pay for being the picture taker...
After church we came home changed (girls didn't want to) and then headed to my aunt Linda and uncle Gerald's house.  This is our gathering place for Easter, and we love it.  We always eat a great potluck lunch and then spend the afternoon playing games and hunting eggs for the kids.  This year was a little sad, as I brought 4 of the 5 kids there hunting eggs.  It is sad to know that either the younger kids live in CA or AK, or the kids are getting older and out of the hunting eggs phase...
This is the crew...my cousin Brandon married a girl who had a little boy, so we are so excited to have a new little guy the twins age at family gatherings now...
Some of the kids just can't get out of hunting eggs...all the bigger kids were so nice to hide the eggs and then help the littles find them.  The sad thing is we had less kids this year, and just as many eggs as we have had in the past...280 eggs to find between 5 kids...wow!!!  I mean Carter found 67, crazy?!?!?!?!

Side note:  doesn't my cousin Blake look scary?  Do you know which one I am talking about?  Watch out Highfill he will get you :)
My girls love these 2...I can't believe that in less than a month they will be graduating.  Not sure what we will do without Ashlyn picking them up everyday and bringing them home?  Wait, we have Halle :).  And let's be honest Jake is a sport to put up with these girls...

SS Easter Egg Hunt...

We always have such a great time with our SS group, and our Easter Social was no different.  The kids had a great time hunting eggs, but more importantly just having a good time with all of their friends at the Roughley's house.  I love our little group, and am grateful that we all have kids the same age and enjoy each others company.

The funny part is, our "first" group to hunt is the 3 and under kids, well that group has quickly become our smallest group.  We now have a ton of kids 5+ which wasn't the case for so many years.

Seriously...this was the best one I could get of them...
This is our group of kids....and it is not even all of us.  There were several couples that couldn't make it.  Check out Bailey on the end at the left...she was not happy she had to take this picture.  Love it!
What a wonderful time with our friends celebrating and fellowshipping together.

Easter Weekend...Round 1

Last Friday the girls had their PreK Easter Egg hunt at school.  They had the best time, and I was so excited to get to go to this with them.  This was just the start of our BIG Easter weekend of Easter Egg Hunts.  Poor Carter doesn't have Easter Egg parties or hunts anymore at school...the price of getting older.  :)

2 of the sweetest and craziest girls I know...

Hanging out with them for snack time!  How exciting!

I love getting to hang out with them at school and see their little friends that they talk about all the time.

I think the best part of their day was when Nana Flynt picked them up from school for a sleepover with her and the Addington kids.  They had such a good time, and felt special with Nana getting them.

Machine Pitch...

This is Carter's first year playing machine pitch baseball.  I missed his first game, as I was in NY that week :(.  But I did get to see him last week play, and this week he had some great hits!!!  I am so excited to start this new era in baseball for Carter!

Here he is leading off his team at bat...sure love this boy and his love for baseball...

Someone had a birthday!!!!

This guy had a birthday yesterday!!!!  And he is as crazy as ever in his "old" age...

He once again would not look at me as I was trying to get his picture...will I ever get a normal picture of him smiling again?  Probably not! :)

Carter was supposed to have a baseball game last night, but because of the rain it was cancelled.  So, we ended up having mexican for dinner, coming home playing outside and having cinnamon cake and singing to the birthday boy.

Happy birthday Chris!  We love you so much, and appreciate all you do for our family!  Don't know what we would do without you.
