Cheer Camp 2009

Well, I left last Saturday to go to the University of Arkansas to attend cheerleading camp. For those of you who don't know, or who just don't remember...I coach the Gravette High School Cheerleaders. So, I took 13 girls and 1 boy to a UCA camp at the UofA. They did amazing, I am so proud of each of them for the way they acted and how well they did. We came home camp champs in Home Pom (we took this dance with us), camp champs in Cheer and 2nd in Extreme Routine. And last but certainly not least, they came home with the Banana for the 2nd year in a row. If you ask them which award they wanted the most, it would definitely be the banana. It is given to the squad who has the most spirit throughout the week, and goes out of their way to help other squads, and just in general sets a good example. I also had 5 of my 7 seniors make All-American, so they have the opportunity to go to London over Christmas and New Years. Again, I am so proud of this group of students, I could not have asked for a better group of kids.

Don't worry about the kids, while I was away Chris took very good care of them. He even made it to church with them, and didn't just have the girls in onesies. I am so lucky to have such a great husband that lets me go off to cheer camp for 4 days, and doesn't think anything about being left alone for all 3 kids during that time. We also had the help of some friends and family to watch them while Chris worked on Monday and Tuesday, thank goodness for those who are willing and able to help.

My squad and all their awards/trophies

Me and my Seniors...this was bittersweet for me, I actually started coaching these girls/boy when they were sophomores, so I am going to cry when they leave me. They are a great group of kids.
